So I’m beginning on this clean beauty journey and finally tackling my hair care. My friend, Ansley, let me try some of her products from the plant based hair care line, Monat (pronounced Mo-nate). This company is taking on the traditional hair care industry with natural, plant based, cruelty free products. And I have to tell you…they work! I wanted to give a honest, thorough review so I took 30 days to test this line. Here are my thoughts on the full line of products.
Revitalize shampoo & conditioner ($35 & $47): Adds volume. I chose the Revitalize shampoo and conditioner line because volume is always my biggest concern. I have fine hair so I’m always looking for a boost! This stuff was light and airy on my hair. It felt like it did it’s job to cleanse, but didn’t leave anything behind. Also, it has a gentle coconut-y, citrus-y smell from the essential oils which I love. 10/10
Rejuveniqe Oil ($99): This is Monat’s signature product. Apparently this oil has like 101 uses from hair oil to putting it in your toothpaste. Honestly, it would absorb into my hands before I could get it to my hair but Ansley told me she adds the oil directly to her leave-in conditioner for an added boost. This oil has 11 essential oils in it, so it’s definitely full of good stuff. 6/10
Moxie Magnifying Mousse ($29): Totally love this stuff! It gives a healthy lift without weighing down my hair. Also, no “crispy hair” which happens sometimes with mousse. My only concern was that I felt like I had to use a lot of the product for it to be effective. 8/10
Restore Leave-In Conditioner ($33): Okay, this stuff really made my hair feel yummy. It has sort of a milky texture and is full of amazing essential oils for your hair. I think this products was the biggest game changer for me. 10/10
Tousled Texturizing Mist ($28): Obsessed! This mist totally gives texture without making my hair gritty. It’s perfect. I can get that beachy, loose wave without feeling like my hair has been soaking in salt water. I don’t like how you have to squirt it into your hand and then apply to your hair, because my hands get sticky. But not a deal breaker. 8/10
The Champ Dry Shampoo ($33): Just a classic dry shampoo in my opinion. I couldn’t tell much of a difference than my normal one. But I do have the peace of mind that there are only good things in it, so that’s a plus. 7/10
So those are my thoughts on my trial with Monat! If I could only choose three products to purchase from this line I would choose the Revitalize Shampoo, Revitalize Conditioner, and the Restore Leave-In Conditioner. Also, Ansley has been using the products for a while now and she told me her average product has lasted about 5 months. Happy clean beauty shopping!
